A channel dedicated almost entirely to Martha Argerich performances. I rarely come on here, so bear with me if my posts are infrequent.

A turbulent interpretation of one of Liszt's many rhapsodies. Interesting to note her getting carried away in the final (and maniacal!) octaves nearing the end. Looks like even Martha can get the better of Martha... Filmed in Munich, 1966.

Não tem melhor é perfeita
That's what makes the 3rd the most perfect and beautiful of all concertos. having played it when young and re-learned it over the years, can attest to the insanity of it. Where it sounds easy is where it's most difficult, where it's technical and complicated really more straightforward. Took days to learn the ossia cadenza, but weeks to get the little arpeggio passage right where the flute and french horn plays immediately after because your hands are turning over it and changing keys constantly. Sounds sweet for the audience, but is an absolute nightmare for the pianist trying to cram it all in.
Qué alucinante. Martha Argerich, sin duda, la mejor. Sus dinámicas son extraordinarias.
The best of the best pianist!
The first note is missing.
I can never enjoy Martha’s playing. Maybe one day I might but not my taste probably for a long time. So much desire to dominate the orchestra…she can be quite ruthless.
"Esecuzione strabiliante!" ❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉 Giuseppe Perego Monza 16.2.1962 Grazie
Best interpretation
The perfomance is legendary... For all that I love and admire Martha and her Music, i feel she's butchered the "ossia" cadenza!!! Where did the romance go!! Its just brutal to hear her attacking the keys in such a frenzied manner!
Sheer genius!

This is magic without any of the tricks. Just pure magic, impossible, yet it exist right before you. Perfection.
I was a piano major in college, so I've played Rachmaninoff before, but I'll be working on this piece for the rest of my life.
Thank you so much🙏💌
yesssss so truee
Amazing 🙏
I hope ı have opportunity to listen to you live 👍
WTF edits these things, do you really think we want to watch the conductor as the most emotional moments. wwwwwww
I keep returning to this video ever since it was uploaded. Absolutely sublime.
Bach was channeling God when he wrote this stuff
Memorável, sob todos os aspectos. Melancólico, vivo, imprevisível. Genial Marthita.
That's a fantastic interpretation! The best I have so far found on UA-cam. I especially like the tempo. Most other pianists play it much to fast. There is no need to demonstrate virtuosity. The musical content is much more important. The piece is still Allegro but played in a way that you can hear the musical nuances. I admire how Martha Argerich manages to keep the rhythm and pace exact from the beginning to the end.
te eriza los pelos del recto
Mazurki Fryderyka Chopina to kwintesencja polskości. Wspaniałe wykonanie ❤
I would give up 10 years of my life to spend a dinner talking music and Life with her.
Damn bro I can't even beat it at that speed
Tears came to my eyes.
MARTHA ARGERICH

❤
WOWWW!!! I have been playing piano for 7 years now and I've never cried listening to a piece, but boy oh boy, this nearly made my cry 😭. So beautiful!!!
vive Horrovits !
❤🕊👏
Liszt would not have worn or needed the hair clip. He had a personal djinn to rake back and hold his mane. He turned the performing orientation of the piano to side view so the audience could see it.

Somewhere out on thr YT is an interview with Pgprelic in which he states that he was asked NOT TO ENTER the Chopin comp in 1980 because soviet politics wanted and decided that vietnamese pianist should get first prize...therefore Pogorelich was requested not to enter comp in Poland and he could enter the next Tchaikovsky comp in Moscow and he would be granted the first prize. For whatever reasons known only to pogorelich, he chose not to listen to this soviet request which most likely came from elements within the moscow conservatory where he was studying. Poland was under soviet control so what soviets wanted. They got.so the reason why the senior manager of the competition jury determined they could not allow pogorelich to advance to the finals. Obviously soviets had aligned with communist vietnam and wanted one of their own neighboring allies to be rewarded culturally. This was stated bt pogorelich sometime between 2002 and 2005, many years later, and when soviet state no longer existed as a sovereign country. But simply as a republic of russia and communism was no longer the political ideology. if these statements by pogorelich were true or not, most likely no one is alive today to refute or agree as to their veracity.
I think Georges Cziffra is the best ua-cam.com/video/_wnXcq8Gk7Y/v-deo.html
I love Martha not because she’s so beautifully talented at music, but because she’s so humble giving the signals out to her wonderful gift that she shares with the world ❤Thank you so much Martha
Chailly was in sweats after only one movement, Argerich not :-)
the most fascinating woman ever met, and one of the 5 greatest pianists of all times. And a wonderful person
Who’s in your top 5, may I ask?
@@eye_singfor me Helene Grimaud, Yuljanna Avdeeva, Yuja Wang, Maria Pirez. But If I would must choose I say Argerich.
@@Rjgethgdfjf Thank you for mentioning/recommending 2 active and lesser known pianists I've never heard of (Avdeeva and Pirez), I'll check out their music. I'm always interested in hearing more current piano recordings -- my top 5 in no particular order would probably be Schnabel, Yudina, Richter, Barere, and Argerich so obviously I need some current recommendations. And on second thought 4 of them are in no particular order but Yudina is my favorite by a lot :)
@@timwakefield Avdeeva won Chopin competition so... she is very muscially. Maria Jao Pirez now is 80 but I love her very ellegant playing. It is the same lady who played diffrent concerto that she thought on the concert.
Rachmaninoff Piano Concert No.2 and No.3;她是紐約University of Rochester博士畢業
